ABOUT

You can hear our demo at .NecktieKiller, or at ./NecktieKiller

Necktie Killer is a 7 - 8 piece group based out of Redmond. Our instrumentation consists of base, drums, trumpet, trombone, bari sax and a front man. We play a number of diverse styles, including rock, punk, ska, funk, reggae and dub. Our set currently consists of 14 originals and 5 covers, which comes out just short of two hours. We also have a handful of partially written songs that we are eager to add as full band arrangements. We are nearing completion of our first full length album, which is self produced with high quality equipment and software, which the band has purchased for itself.

We have relatively strong name recognition in the area, and have a lot of experience getting good paying gigs and selling merchandise. We have also gotten the opportunity to open for and establish connections with a number of national, signed acts, including The Mad Caddies, The Toasters, and The Supervillains.

We typically practice one or two times a week, and frequently play shows on the weekends. We expect the band to get much busier in the near future, but feel that we have a lot to offer someone that is willing to make the commitment.

Influences

We have a lot of members, and those members each bring a number of their own influences. They include The Mad Caddies, Sublime, Red Hot Chilli Peppers, Reel Big Fish, Rage Against the Machine, The Supervillains, and many, many more.

Members Of Band

Current permanent members include a front man, base player, trumpet, trombone, and bari sax.

We are focused right now on auditioning drummers and guitarists, but are open to adding other instrumentation at the moment, as well.

EQUIPMENT

We have a great sound system that is more than adequate to handle all of our live sound needs, including four active three way towers that we use as mains, six passive floor monitors, three high quality vocal mics, wireless horn mics, a set of drum mics, and lots of other odds and ends that I, the front man, am not super familiar with. We also have lots of good recording gear.
