ABOUT

I played in a few bands around the Detroit are in high school before a long cessation of music. A couple years ago (after 2-3 years off) I started playing guitar again.

I live in Atlanta now and recently started writing seriously again, and I want to start performing. I have a few messy laptop demos that I can send out to anyone who's interested. I'd like to clean some of these up and record some kind of primitive EP by the end of the summer, and start playing some shows, hopefully before then.

At various times before I've played violin, saxophone, piano, harmonica, and bass. I still have a violin and I'd like to get around to working it out again maybe, at some point. My current projects has just been me, alone, on acoustic or electric with vocals.

Influences

I listen to a lot of folk (Sufjan Stevens, Elliott Smith, Iron and Wine, and the Mountain Goats are one of my all-time favorite bands) pop punk (The Front Bottoms, Modern Baseball) anarcho-punk (Andrew Jackson Jihad or Defiance, Ohio) and newer emo (American Football, The World is a Beautiful Place), as well as a lot of other things, and I think my current work is a pretty even mixture of those styles.

EQUIPMENT

I play an old beat-up Yamaha acoustic with an interior contact mic and a Shecter C1-+ through a 200-watt Fender combo app. The only pedals are really use are a DD-7 delay and BOSS Bass Overdrive. I'm looking into adding some fuzzier drive soon.

I also have a mic/preamp and a 4-channel interface for some pretty-okay home recording.
