I am an amateur acoustic guitar player with strong finger picking skills. I'm not professional or stage ready, but I learn quickly and I have a strong commitment to my playing.
For an audition my song selection might be; yesterday, here comes the sun, an acoustic version of the horizon has been defeated by jack johnson; those are my 110%'ers. If I was pressed to pull off a few more they might be; dust in the wind, landslide, high by james blunt. These are just my current favs and they change all the time. I need to tighten up a few like; babe I'm gonna leave you, tears in heaven, more than words, one last breath and a few dozen more. I also have an acoustic finger picking version of 100 years and superman by five for fighting.
I play the piano a little but I can not sight read. I played the cello as a kid, the clarinet as a teen and I picked up the guitar in high school. I played keyboards in a band that toured the southeast for a couple of years when I was 19 and 20. Since then playing my guitar has been more of a hobby till about four years ago. Since 2006 I have put alot more time in practicing and have a much stronger style and skill foundation and feel I'm ready for the next step...the gig! But I need a vocalist because it sounds like a horse being whipped when I sing. Sad but true.
