Hi, my name is Justin.
For you guys who don't like too much detail, I'm 18 years old, I've been playing lead guitar for 8 years, and I've been influenced primarily by modern metalcore and deathcore bands. I've recently been inspired to fall back on Christian hard rock and nu metal as well. If anyone needs a young lead guitarist for either, sounds like I'm your guy! ;-)

I started taking lessons for electric lead guitar 8 years ago, and over the last 3 years especially, playing music has been a big part of my life. I love the intricacies of music theory, the way instruments mesh together, and how atypical sounds and patterns evoke different emotions in new and exciting ways.
The first band I ever got excited about was Three Days Grace. From there, I started to explore the surrounding genre, and I found that I could relate to the messages of Christian hard rock bands such as Red, Skillet, and Thousand Foot Krutch. Later on, I would stumble upon Bullet For My Valentine, Avenged Sevenfold, and eventually Of Mice & Men. After listening to "Bones Exposed" a million and a half times, I was hooked!! Parkway Drive, Lamb of God, blessthefall, Thy Art Is Murder, and even a few obscure power metal bands followed. My one longstanding idol is August Burns Red. With cohesive progressive writing, odd time signatures, melodic guitars, searing drums, and savage slam poetry lyrics... what's not to love?
As my love for music grew, so did my creativity on the guitar. I memorized the D minor scale fingerings and dropped my guitar tuning to drop C, down to drop A#, and back up to drop D. I learned how to finger tap, string skip while down picking, improvise new chords, sweep pick, and find cool ways to incorporate accidentals. Soon I tried writing for other instruments and creating lyrics. I'm even interested in exploring music production and recording.
I'm looking for other committed musicians with whom I can share my passion, write some awesome music, and play some incredible shows.
