In today’s day and age we believe we’ve seen it all and heard it all before. Well have you heard of BackFire? No! Not what your car does when its having mechanical problems but the hottest collaboration of musicians and artist from many different genres of music who share one thing in common. The love of GOOD music.

BackFire is an American hip-hop band based out of Capitol heights Md. They are famous for uniquely blending R&B, Soul , Rock&Roll, Jazz, with a splash of Latin and African percussion. This one of its kind sound includes live instrumentals. Backfire consist of two Labels including BackTrunk Records & Fire Muzic Productions. BackFire's focus on live music began back in 2004 when rapper Zeno Malone (CEO BACK TRUNK) and Producers Dizzy Beatz & Big-A (FireMuzic) became friends at the Annual Soul Aquatics at the World Cafe in Downtown Philadelphia. This event hosted by Temple University students spotlighted various talents up & down the east coast but nobody could deny the awesome chemistry between the D.C Area threesome. Both Zeno & Big-A being former (WPGC 95.5) Rap battle champions often worked at Fire Studio in Seat Pleasant Md. The relationship between the two parties later grew when Zeno started using the Studio for a local go-go band he managed, while in return offering live equipment & sound. Later when the band broke apart Dizzy already a skilled pianist along with the help of percussionist Bud & Squirm put together there own band that later they would name BackFire Band.

The group began to earn money at local talent shows and hooked up with singers J-J, Takoa,and Lady Redz who is also Vice president/Artist on Back Trunk Records. moving from the basement to local clubs. Backfire has become a highly tipped underground act around the D.C Metro Area. They have a larger task then the typical local Go-Go bands, being that they’re all independent artist & perform all original music in a city where cover bands have ruled the club scene. But that same originality will take them from a growing local band to an international phenomenon

Recently the band has performed at many venues in the D.C Metro area including various clubs in Adams Morgan, Mirrors night Club and Roses Dream in Downtown D.C. They have already made plans to perform in various cities up & down the east coast including both Atlanta and Philadelphia with hopes to expand its fan base to soon tour the world.
