ABOUT

Gigged with Canvas in Lexington the past year or so, but it got too serious with too many gigs. I love playing live, I just have a lot going on with work & family life.

I'd love to find some experienced musicians (drums, bass, keyboard) to start jamming occasionally. A weekend here, a night there. Low pressure. Ideally you know a little music theory (I'm not a music school nerd, don't worry) and you can improvise in tasty ways. I want to find people who can ride the rails of an existing cover but then make it their own.

That could be a starting point: jam on some covers, blend in our own ideas in those tunes, and see where it goes.

Something I do on my own is I take popular songs and re-record instrumental versions with a different feel, or do mashups of multiple covers that you'd never think to pair up. I do a lot of little recording projects -- might be fun to do with the group eventually.

You tell me what you're interested in doing, and we can find common ground.

Here's an example of one of my original instrumentals: ditto.fm/sinister-plaid

EQUIPMENT

Guitar junk: Homemade Les Paul, sweet Tele made from a tree in my backyard, homemade Strat. Victory V40 head, custom 2x12 cab, 50+ year old Marshall half stack (that only leaves the man cave for special occasions), acoustics, a few oddball electrics from back in the day. Pedals out the yin yang (I'm a tone chaser), some mics, etc.

Bass junk: homemade P-bass, Carvin bass combo.

Drum junk: Pearl kit
