We are a gigging band. Our goal is to play once a month. We want to be invited back wherever we play. So your timing has to be really good. We expect a certain level of proficiency and professionalism.

My band is Doubloon Bayou Band. rockdabayou on FB.

We gig once a month. If we are asked to play outside of our usual schedule - parties - cancellations from other bands etc. we get 500.

We practice once a week. The practice schedule is flexible but usually on Wednesday evening.

The ideal candidate has chops, is laid back, friendly professional and reliable. We jam the songs - so improvisation is important. If you play songs to be “just like the record” you won’t be a good fit.

Creativity! We write originals. Solid timing. Drummers that have the dreaded time traveling issue need not apply.
Proactive drummers that know the tempo and can keep it please apply!

We are not in it for money. So if you gotta get paid asap - we ain’t the one. We have regular jobs. To be a great fit you probably should too.

If you are in another band but this opportunity interests you it may work as we don’t want to play every week.

We practice at my house. I have a full floor dedicated to music.

I have a mid level Ludwig drum set with high level hi-hat stand and a mix of cymbals. So you do not have to bring drums- just get this one set like you want.

Practice is located in Slidell.
3 flights of stairs up. So be in good enough health to handle that. I have to say that because if you’re 50 and in bad shape - it’s gonna suck and you’ll quit.

We have fun. We are very tightly knit.

420 and beer is cool - but keep it under control. We want to have productive fun practices.

Influences

The Steve's - Vaughan and Vai, John Petrucci. Oh … Andy Wood too and Eddie. I’m only influenced by these guitarists. Anything else you hear I stole from Dave or an accordion player.
