ABOUT

For the past 10 years, I've been playing with a working Irish pub band that also plays alternative/classic rock covers. We are super busy in March and September. We have recently formed a second band (same musicians) to concentrate on non-Irish alternative rock songs to get more booking outside of March and September. I play Lead and some Rhythm Guitar. Can do lead vocal for a few songs (my voice probably can't do 3 hour gig) and plenty of harmonies and backing vocals. Band chemistry is super important - probably more important than how technical/competent the musicians are. It's got to be FUN! I've been very luck with my current band(s). Practicing once per month, gigging twice per month suits me just fine.

Influences

I like to play "good songs" that people want to hear - usually just pick one or two from a given artist/group. From a wide range of styles and genres. Mostly alternative, punk, post-punk with a few choice classic rock. But would like to do some newer stuff as well. Too many to list but here is a small sampling:
2000s: Coldplay, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Black Keys, Kings of Leon
1990s: Nirvana, Weezer, White Stripes, Oasis, Stone Temple Pilots, Green Day, Matchbox 20, Third Eye Blind, Blink 182
1980s: The Cure, Michael Penn, Crowded House
1970s: David Bowie
1960s: Beatles, Very early songs from The Who and Rolling Stones.
