Took some time off after a decade-long illness, but looking to get back in the game. I enjoy covers and originals. Not very interested in jamming. I just think that regular rehearsals should lead to performances/gigs.

I like 90s-00s alt rock and my voice lives mostly in that space. I love pop punk, but singing in those (original) keys takes a toll on the cords. So I welcome them, but they can't dominate a setlist. I can sing hard, but have the finesse to handle a ballad, or jazz standard. I really put a lot of work into control, dynamics and style.

Apologies for having to say this (I've listened and watched a LOT of samples posted on local bandmix pages) but I actually sing in tune, keep time and have tasteful vibrato. Seems like a lot of my contemporaries have very loosey-goosey karaoke/lounge deliveries. (I'm old, but I don't SOUND old. LOL)

I do write, and I "speak" enough guitar and piano to crank out a chord chart. I've got a dozen or so originals that are written and arranged.
