Music is of huge importance in my life. I don't see it as a means to making money, because I'm making nothing from it at the moment, but also a way of changing people, helping people and conveying ideas that otherwise would be lost in other forms. I've been playing music since I was 10, starting in middle school band playing the trumpet and trombone, to still playing a variety of instruments to this day.

I feel that my journey through life and music has given me an amazing understanding of harmonies, rhythm and an overall understanding of the passion that I love to harbor.

Influences

I grew up listening to what my parents listened to: Queen, Black Sabbath, Ted Nugent, Ozzy... just to name a few. Around age 10 I started finding interest in Eric Clapton and R.E.M.
Through the years I wandered through the rock genre listening to Guns N Roses and many of the big hair 80s bands.
Mid 90s I started into darker stuff like Type O Negative, Marilyn Manson and Fear Factory, but my favorite and still a favorite to this day is Nine Inch Nails.
Alice in Chains was also a favorite along with the much underrated Blind Melon.

Had a brief period where I listened to Ska: Reel Big Fish, Bosstones and Goldfinger.

Further down the road, I started into bands and artists from earlier generations: Pink Floyd, the Doors, Dire Straights, the Beatles, Steve Miller Band, Paul Simon and others. I think I've found this genre of music to be the most influential of my listening likes.

Currently my tastes include, but not limited to mostly acoustic instruments.
The Avett Brothers, Mumford & Sons, Steve Martin, Nickel Creek, the Punch Brothers... the list could go on for a while.

Needless to say I have a wide range of influences and am still finding more everyday.
