I'd like to start a funky fusion project from scratch, or perhaps do some remote writing/file-sharing until we have something worthy to get together and jam. Remote collabs can be either audio-only or video/split screen collabs. I have 16 years of shedding and 4 years of home recording experience. I'm seeking Jazz fusion, Hiphop, Metalcore, or Breakbeat/techno collaborations:
Jazz/fusion players: My jazzy/funky drumming samples are after the "metal-core" samples below. There are also several Hip hop/Nu style sketches.
1). I'm looking for like-minded cats to create funky, 'djenty' Metalcore music. Nu-metal vibes are cool too, I love hip hop and fusion. I love to write big breakdowns, and lock in with heavy slap bass and very low-tuned rhythm chugs. Most of the vocabulary I study is represented in my influences list.
Besides "djent" and "breakdowns", I also enjoy lite and medium metalcore. Whether instrumental only, or with clean singing and screams and growls. I'm not as enthusiastic about gutturals, but if it's chunky and the rhythm is clever, I can write downtempo death metal riffs too.
2). In the non-metal genres, I am seeking jazz or funk players to really push the envelope on some extra funky feels. I would love primarily to write with a slap bass player or a jazzy piano or organ player, who may also play keyboard for convenience of jamming.
Straight jazz, electric and proggy. Rockabilly shuffles, greazy fusion, some gospel fusion, maybe even smooth jazz. HMU if you love that deep pocket funky shred, with some clean bass and keys.
