ABOUT

Seeking one or more collaborators (vocals/ guitar / bass/ keys/ producer) for a primarily post-punk studio project. I'm a classically trained guitarist and formerly a professional musician and composer in signed indie and post-rock bands (w/ studio albums & touring experience). Now a ~40yo dad with a serious day job, my primary goal is to write and record a set of songs for digital release and promotion and to have some fun doing so! Live performance on a realistic schedule would be an exciting bonus, but not essential for this project.

I'm prolific at coming up with 'sonic vignettes', but sometimes struggle with conversion to full-length tracks. I'm hoping to find a collaborator who can help me develop ideas through both creative jamming / brain storming and more disciplined song writing, as well as bringing their own ideas to songwriting and/or production. I have a tendency towards more elaborate guitar playing styles and arrangements, but am enjoying the challenge of adhering more strictly to the post-punk aesthetic of simplified, textural guitar parts that leave more room for focus on rhythmicity and melodic basslines. The sound could go in the lighter or heavier direction (maybe both!), and the uploaded tracks here are just very rough demos showing the darker / experimental vs more poppy sounds I'm going for.

My influences are recently first-wave ('80s) mostly British post-punk, as well as subsequent post-punk revival. Historically my influences are more post-rock, indie, shoegaze, progressive metal & instrumental, as well as some electronica and folk.
