I am a seasoned performer and capable of playing all styles and genres of music. I do have my favorites but really can't say I dislike any style or genre...not my way to judge by labels...
I excel at playing new music - and by 'new' music I mean music as new as what you wrote moments before I came in the room! Love working on originals but also find doing both solid 'covers' as well as alternative versions of songs makes my day!
I'm a pretty good guitar player but due to injuries to my left hand have some limitations...on bass I can keep up with the best...can play what you want specifically or make it work with something else...always open to new ideas on what to play, how to approach a song, dynamics, synergy, playing in concert with the other players...

Influences
60's rock, especially British invasion, folk rock (jingle jangle for the house! Nothing beats a bright 12-string for lifting a song up where it soars!)...Beatles, Buffalo Springfield, Byrds (all iterations of all three)...Todd Rundgren holds the highest spot in my hierarchy of rock and pop and the whole post-50's modern rock...also have a keen interest in Latin music as well as African (folk, ethnic, and contemporary) and world music - and I mean music from around the world...
Tom Petty, Cars, Elvis Costello, Nick Lowe, singer-song writers like Emm Gryner, Ben Folds, Mary Chapin Carpenter, Karla Bonoff, others...
Oh, almost forgot - country...and western...classic country as well as the 'new' country that emerged in the late 70's and early 80's...Vince Gill, Alabama, George Straight, Dwight Yokum, Steve Earl...can play them all - and, as Maxwell Smart used to put it - and loving it
