High energy 4-piece rock outfit performing all-original material in addition to songs from Paul Collins' first band, The Nerves. The Nerves recorded the song Hanging On The Telephone, later to become a hit single when covered by Blondie. In a career that spans more than 30 years, Paul Collins' Beat manages to bridge the gap between the rock of yesterday and today. The Beat appeared on the Caddyshack Original Motion Picture Soundtrack and began to perform on television programs such as Dick Clark's American Bandstand. Between his work with The Beat and his solo projects, Paul Collins has written and recorded with artists such as Chuck Prohpet, Bruce Botnick (The Doors), Octavio Vinck, Greg Kihn, Eddie Money, Jeff Trott (Sheryl Crow), Peter Case (The Plimsouls), Cyril Jordan (Flamin Groovies), Dave Immergluck (Counting Crows), and the rythm section of Chris Isaak's band, Silvertone. In his bands The Nerves and The Beat, Paul Collins has performed with numerous acts, including The Ramones, The Jam, The Police, Stray Cats, The Cure, Pere Ubu, Ian Gomm, Huey Lewis, Southside Johnny, Eddie Money and countless other names. Paul Collins' Beat earned their first record deal with the help of Eddie Money, a longtime friend of lead singer/songwriter, Paul Collins. Classic music videos by Paul Collins' Beat can be seen on the MTV2 and VH1 Classic networks.
