ABOUT

I'm a bass player (mainly), but I also play rhythm guitar, I write songs and lots of music and I'm looking for a partner in crime to form a duo or a full-on band involving more members.
[I just figure if there's even just 1, hard-to-pin-down, musical wacko, like me somewhere out there it'll be a darn miracle and I'll be very happy. But, I'm very sadly not holding my breath.]

I started playing bass after watching Cliff Burton of Metallica on an old bootleg and I fell in love with how much one genius of a bass player could do with just 4 strings. I'd say I'm like Cliff if he had said no to metal and stuck with 1960s/1970s rock or experimental rock - Kind of like he did for fun, jamming Faith No More's Jim Martin and Mike Bordin on their ranch California.

I'm mainly into British rock (1960s-90s), 1960s American rock, garage rock, folk and psychedelic rock and *not* grunge but 1990s indie and alternative rock bands/artists.

I love Britpop bands like Oasis, Blur, The Charlatans and, although "pre" Britpop I love The Stone Roses.

I also love OLD British rock bands/artists like The Who, Beatles, Stones, Kinks, Small Faces, Pink Floyd, Syd Barrett and all the greats of the 1960s including genres like Garage Rock, Folk (Bob Dylan, Donovan, for example), Psychedelic Folk and Rock, etc.

I love late 1980s/1990s American Indie and alternative bands like Ween, Guided By Voices, Pavement, Graham Coxon's (of Blur) solo albums, and the guys still delivering the rock like Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds, Liam Gallagher and John Squire's (Ex-Stone Roses) new duo are some examples.

I also have a love for creating unique music and I love Jazz-Rock/Fusion greats like Miles Davis (his later fusion stuff like "In A Silent Way" & "Bitches Brew". All his mid-late 60s stuff is amazing), and of course John Coltrane, Thelonious Monk, Weather Report (LOVE Jaco Pastorius), Charles Mingus, and experimental rock artists like Frank Zappa and Captain Beefheart.

Those are my favorites when it comes to what I love playing. But I probably don't sound too much like a lot of them except for The Who (John Entwistle's bass playing had a profound impact on me), Oasis, Pink Floyd, The Kinks, and I love heavier riffing like Black Sabbath. Acoustic music, not just Dylan or Donovan, but in general inspires me. I used to always write silly, and pretty crazy at times, song with my best friend back in the day. We let our sense of humor come though in the music and we had so much fun. It'd be so nice to have that again.

I'm just all over the place and I love making music with others. I've written many songs and instrumentals over the years and the ideas keep coming constantly. But I really it would be really nice to collaborate with another person or just other musicians (how ever many) to share ideas with and make it a real collaboration effort where everyone involved is happy with the end result.

I just really need a partner (or more) to either form a duo or full band that can rock out but also experiment and create our own unique style and sound AND have a great time doing it. :)

It doesn't matter your age or gender. It's about the music and having a great time while creating something that hasn't been heard of or thought of yet.

I'm an approachable, friendly, open-minded guy who plays bass mainly, but I also play rhythm guitar and I can keep a beat well-enough for demos (or full songs) on my Roland V-Drum kit who is looking for another musical oddball, or group of them, to throw some ideas together with.

If any of this sounds remotely like you please hit me up!

Sorry so long, but I also tend to get "Metal" bands writing me due to the Cliff Burton influence. While I love Cliff, I'm far too eclectic to be in a Metal band. Unless you wanna play a combination of Slayer, Old Metallica, Ween and Bob Dylan? Then we'll talk (seriously).
