I play harmonica from the heart. I also believe in "The Harmonica Player's Hippocratic Oath...above all, do no harm to the music." I've been playing harp for over 50 years and have gigged with a wide variety of bands...from Praise, Gospel, Country Rock, Pop and Blues. I can sing and I also play congas and other percussion when the song doesn't call for a harmonica.

Influences

The music of Toots Thielemans really got me going but I'm no expert on the chromatic and continue to work at learning this instrument. I comfortably play diatonic harps and am influenced by such players as Charlie Musselwhite, Magic Dick, Todd Parrot, Buddy Greene, Charlie McCoy, Adam Gussow, Paul Butterfield, Paul DeLay, Delbert McClinton, Mickey Raphael and on and on...

EQUIPMENT

About three dozen diatonic harmonicas in a variety of keys, a chromatic harp, a custom built blues mic, an Astatic harmonica mic, remote set up for my harps and amps, Blues Junior, Peavy and my love, a 5 lb, 50 watt Vox Bass amp. Also a couple of Shure vocal mics and a number of cables.
