Chicago-raised, Eddie grew up among a family of musicians and singers and has been playing drums since sitting on phone books in church. As a child, the only music allowed to be played in the Norwood household was gospel. As a result, it goes without saying that his earliest musical opportunities were only in church.

As he grew older, so did his musical interests and over the years, he has been inspired by the rhythmic sounds of drummers such as Rayford Griffin, Lil John Roberts and Oscar Seaton. After 22 years of service, Eddie retired from the Army and has dedicated more time to his craft flourishing in a number of bands and opportunities in multiple styles of music. His passion and professionalism combined with impeccable rhythm and timing form the percussive backbone for artists like Billy Ray Shepperd, Edith Rivera, Soul Prodigy, Fools of the Trade, House Party and Higher Ground Christian Worship Center.
