Las Vegas has always been known for its shows. Performers like Barry Manilow, Bette Midler, Celine Dion, Elton John, and Rita Rudner are all world famous musicians that heat up the Las Vegas showrooms. Manilow performs is act “Music and Passion” for two weeks each month at the Las Vegas Hilton. Celine Dion performs her act “A New Day” at Caesar’s Palace Hotel and Casino. Las Vegas is also the place that Elvis Presley made his 1969 comeback. Accordingly, there are numerous Elvis Tribute impersonators and shows here. The Palms also offers occasional appearances by stars like Fergie and Snow Patrol at their music venue, The Pearl. The Palms has recently added two serious hot spots, Moon and The Playboy Club.
Local talent includes the rockers Soul’d Out, The Killers, The Higher and Panic! At the Disco. Panic! At the Disco has recently made it big in the world of mainstream pop with hits like “Lying is the Most Fun a Girl Can Have Without Taking Her Clothes Off,” “But It’s Better if You Do,” and “ I Write Sins Not Tragedies.”
The House of Blues at Mandalay Bay offers a wide variety of music genres ranging from rock to reggae to rap and of course the blues. Performers include B.B. King, Stevie Nicks and Bob Dylan. The Double Down Saloon features local and regional punk, metal and hard rock bands enhanced by a diverse atmosphere of rockers, businessmen and cowboys. Another exciting venue is the Bunkhouse Saloon which offers every type of music from hard rock and indie to country music.
