Looking to play with creative musicians making original music, whether that's in a working band, a band developing material, or a fresh project.
I've been playing guitar for 25 years and can adapt to many genres. Pretty strong grasp of music theory. I'm a very collaborative, chill, and curious guy who appreciates good humor! I will work my ass off if I believe in a project.
My current interests are trending toward jazz, funk, fusion, R&B, soul, and prog. I also compose ambient stuff.
I've spent a lot of my life writing poetry and plays as well, so I would also be interested in composing lyrics. I have a decent voice but am slow to claim that I'm a vocalist. I can mess around with keys a bit, and used to be a pretty advanced trombonist--but I would need time to recover my embouchure and breath support before I'm performance ready.
I have a large rehearsal space we can use.
IF YOU'RE A MUSICIAN LOOKING TO JOIN A PROJECT, I'm wanting to create an experimental band that fuses jazz-oriented, groove-forward music with elements of performance art, clowning, and/or elements of stand-up. (Don't worry--you don't have to be funny...the goal is to eventually recruit performers from those fields after the music has been created.). I'm a theater-maker by trade, so I have experience in orchestrating these kind of things. But if this doesn't sound like your cup of tea, I'm open to just jamming and, if our sensibilities might click, collectively deciding how to move forward.

I admire both virtuosity and simplicity. I like music that makes you feel, move, and think. I like out-of-the-box stuff that has the potential for popular appeal.
