hi
im young musician/writer who just got to Brooklyn from California and I've noticed NYC is lacking an appetite for real rock n roll. everything here sounds so clean and sterile right now and it's driving me mad.
so im here to put forth a new project. real, balls to the wall rock n roll. none of that dad rock, fake vintage band tshirt bullsh*t. i want people with NEW ideas, NEW ways to play. Rock music is heading toward self-parody status and it makes me sick. only with innovation can we ensure that this genre that is so integral to what NYC is (was?) will survive.
a little more about me: ive been making music since childhood. i played cello in middleschool, then left the orchestra in high school because my director told me i was "incapable of composing music" after i played him some avant garde stuff i made. i picked up keyboard, then ukulele, then electric ukulele, then eventually electric guitar. ive also been singing since childhood. i started with showtunes, but then my balls dropped and i couldnt do it anymore, so i started writing rock songs to sing.
Looking to start a band that has the spaciness of psychedelic rock, the energy and stage presence of punk, and the sonic freedom of jazz.
