SEEKING
Lead Guitar, Background Singer.ABOUT
I started out humming to songs from my Pop's copy of "South Pacific" soundtrack back in the late 1950's on his 'Hi-Fi'. Cool days. I was soon singing those same songs(and lots of others) and was fortunate enough to have parents who knew a trouble maker like me should be IN a good Boy's Choir, so I joined a lot of other great young singers and went to Cathedral School in St. Paul to sing in The Cathedral Boy's Choir. Chasing girls and drinking beer was my main ambition during my high school years, and mostly all I found was the beer, but after a few years of school and a stint in the U.S. Navy, I started once again to wood-shed on the guitar and by 1978 I was playing coffee houses and small gin-joints all over the area. It was a super-good time to be a musician in the Twin Cities. I actually got paid well too. $100-$150 a night in 1980? That was damn good. In fact, most of my friends are STILL making the exact same amount as I was in 1980... Musicians never get a raise. It's like, too "Librul" an idea or something.
Since 1980 or so I have been playing on stages all across Minnesota and far beyond. I am still a very good lead singer, a sometimes terrific guitarist(both acoustic and electric) and I have done well since those days, and gone through some horrible dry spells... hate that. Gotta play. A job here and a band there. In the 1990's I also toured and recorded my 1st CD "He Can Fly" with A&M Records Shawn Phillips, had my "15 Minutes"(which was more like, 6?) and I have been kicking around the area since about 2000, just looking for steady gigs with some good musicians.
As my favorite movie hero said, "And that's all I gots to say about that".
